Perimeter presents at CAP16 - Advancing Diagnostic Medicine
Perimeter Medical Imaging, Inc., a developer of real time optical imaging systems for intraoperative tissue assessment, was invited to speak at CAP16. Wide-Field Optical Coherence Tomography (WF-OCT): A Tool for Rapid Assessment of Ex vivo Subsurface Tissue Structures, and The Potential of Wide-Field Optical Coherence Tomography (WF-OCT) Imaging as a Grossing Tool in your Practice, were two clinically focused presentations given at the IVM Pavilion in the Exhibit Hall.
In vivo microscopy (IVM) is a new field where microscopic images are obtained in real time. These technologies, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), currently use light and can rapidly produce images in 2D or 3D. For more information about the In Vivo Microscopy (IVM) Commitee within CAP, visit here.
About CAP
The College of American Pathologists (CAP), the world's largest association of board-certified pathologists, serves patients, pathologists, and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide. With 18,000 physician members, the CAP has led laboratory accreditation for more than 50 years with more than 7,800 CAP-accredited laboratories in 50 countries.
About Perimeter Medical Imaging
Perimeter Medical Imaging develops, patents and commercializes advanced surgical imaging tools that allow surgeons, radiologists and pathologists to better assess microscopic tissue structures during the surgical procedure. Perimeter’s OTIS™ is the only solution that provides clinicians with an ultra-high resolution image of the entire surface of the removed tissue specimen, providing accurate information in real time, enabling better decisions and ultimately reducing the need for follow-on second surgeries. Perimeter is a privately owned Canadian company. For more information, visit www.perimetermed.com.
